Why it exists
Used-car dealers asked for it. They wanted two things on one screen: the private-party cars for sale in their market, and what the same car costs at auction and lists for on a lot. Those two numbers decide whether a car is worth the drive.
The cars are spread across Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp. Sellers repost them, type the trim into the model, and leave out the title brand, and some of the "owners" are dealers. VinCount reads all three sites, folds the reposts into one row, and puts the cars on one sheet.
What we sell
Rows. VinCount does not buy or sell cars, take a cut of a sale, hold money in escrow, or run a marketplace. A dealer pays a flat monthly fee per market and uses the rows to decide what to buy and what to pay.
The rule we build by
Facts, not estimates. VinCount shows what it saw: the ask, the price cuts, how long the car has been up, the plate on the photos. It shows what the seller claims separately, marked as the seller's word. It never scores a deal or suggests an offer, because that depends on your shop, your lot and your turn. Every median it shows will print the number of sales behind it, since three sales and sixty sales are different facts.
